Hello,
I’m Clare Wilder, wedding florist and founder of Clementine Moon floral design.
I’ve always been a hopeless romantic. Whether drawn from literature or real life, I adore love stories. Flowers are my other great passion. I’m constantly amazed by their beauty and the joy they bring. Even just a simple vase of tulips on a mantelpiece can brighten a room and bring a smile to your face. My career combines these things, so I’m able to pour creativity and enthusiasm into my work while celebrating love and romance every day.

My Style & Ethos
With an emphasis on scent and creating a natural sense of movement, my designs are elegant, experiential and unique. They have an abundant, organic feel – as if gathered from an English country garden. Long after your wedding day, you won’t just remember what your flowers looked like. You’ll remember their sweet fragrance, the texture of the leaves, and the way their natural, wiggly stems seemed to dance in the breeze.
I love creating large statement pieces and installations, but I’m just as passionate about the little details. Weddings are such happy, joyful occasions. Working with me should be an extension of this, so you can expect attentive, personal service from the moment you get in touch.
I care deeply about the environmental impact of my business and I take my commitment to sustainability very seriously. To minimise my carbon footprint, I source locally grown British flowers wherever possible. When this isn’t an option, I try to choose Fairtrade imported stems. I also use sustainable floristry techniques and try to avoid single-use plastic where possible in my work.
Why British Flowers?
Garden roses, stocks, sweet peas, honeysuckle, lilac, mint, lavender and oregano. These are just some of the scented flowers and herbs you’ll find among my designs. More often than not, they’ll have been produced by small British growers.
Beyond sustainability, there are many reasons I favour British flowers over mass grown, imported stems. The latter are usually bred to be uniform, transportable and long-lasting. This means their natural scent is often lost in favour of these qualities. British flowers from small-scale producers are grown with less intervention and tend to have more personality as a result.
Opting for British flowers also gives me access to varieties that can’t be mass produced and don’t travel well. This allows me to create exciting, unique designs and unusual arrangements. It also means you’re more likely to stumble across your wedding flowers while walking through the English countryside or the gardens of a beautiful stately home.
Many of the best British growers are small businesses led by women. They work incredibly hard to produce such beautiful flowers and foliage. I’m committed to supporting them and other small, local businesses through my own.
About Me
I live in Portishead with my husband, our little boy and a beloved ginger cat called Parsnip. When I’m not creating with flowers, I’m usually growing them in our garden or tending to our allotment. I love standing barefoot in grass, taking woodland walks and exploring National Trust properties, especially those with beautiful gardens and glasshouses filled with plants. I’m rarely without a cup of tea and reading is my favourite way to relax. I can’t wait to hear your love story and fill your wedding with flowers.
